Tell Us a Story

 

Objectives:

The learner will write an original, one act "On the Job" play. 

Duration:

 

    2 hours

 

Materials:

Activity description

Large, flip-chart paper

bullet

Marking pens

bullet

notebook paper

bullet

pencil/pen

Activities:

  1. Teacher distributes activity description and introduces the assignment.

  2. Learners work for one hour in pairs or threes, writing and editing first draft of script on notebook paper before copying onto flip-chart paper and cutting into sentence strips.

  3. Learners perform plays for the class.

  4. Teacher assigns pairs. Each pair receives a script cut into sentence strips. Learner pairs put sentence strips in proper sequence to form the original script.

Assessment:

 

Teacher monitors pronunciation, checks scripts for proper grammar use, offers corrections as required.
